7038Service Control ManagerThe ABC service was unable to log on as DOMAIN\service.account with the currently configured password due to the following error:
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
To ensure that the service is configured properly, use the Services snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
This message means that the mentioned service is configured to log on under a username other than LocalSystem/NetworkService etc., but that the currently configured password is invalid.
Navigate to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services and locate the service in question from the list.
Right-Click the service, select properties and switch to the "Log On" tab. Enter the correct password in the dialog or configure the service to run under the Local System account.
I have done that, but the issue comes up often. It works fine when I retype the username & password in the "Lon On" tab and start the service. But, the issue comes back after 1 or 2 days. sometime within few hours.
