Perflib
The timeout waiting for the performance data collection function "ABC" in the "C:\WINNT\system32\perf.dll" Library to finish has expired. There may be a problem with this extensible counter or the service it is collecting data from or the system may have been very busy when this call was attempted.
As the message implies, a performance counter wasn't able to return performance data in a timely manner. The default timeout period for all performance counters is 10 seconds, if a performance DLL takes longer than the timeout period to return data, then this message will be logged.
By default, the system uses the same collect timeout period of 10 seconds (measured in milliseconds) for all services. To override this for an individual service, change the Collect Timeout registry entry.
Using Regedit, navigate to the
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\\Performance
subkey. Double-click Collect Timeout, and then change the length of time in the Value Data box.
If the Collect Timeout registry entry does not exist, you can create it as type DWORD.
To create a Collect Timeout registry entry using Regedit, navigate to the
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\\Performance
subkey. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD value. Type "Collect Timeout". Double-click Collect Timeout, and then enter a length of time in the Value Data box.
